On the 3rd of July 2015 the first Budapest Smart Ticketing and Transport Forum with more than 60 participants was held with great success.
With a large focus on Hungary the participants got first hand information and project milestones from representatives from Budapest, Szolnok and other places. With more than 60 million Euro to be spent the BKK project is currently one of the biggest in Europe. The Budapest project implementation will receive in the years to come much attention. The sharing of experiences like the one of Szolnok public transport gave participants a wide range of useful insights. The event highlighted as well the importance of standards, security and European initiatives like the Smart Ticketing Alliance. Experiences and set ups in Israel, Germany and Belgium allowed to get a view on how to solve interoperability on a national level. Sharing different views on EMV, multiapplication cards, future digitalisation of ticketing services and hardware components completed the set of themes of the 2015 edition of the Budapest Forum. As small exhibition space gave the possibility to get some live demonstration of equipment. We thank our sponsors Scheidt & Bachmann, Ingenico, Rukon and CNA for their precious contribution.
We invite you again to Budapest next year for the second edition of the Smart Ticketing and Transport Forum to be held on the 30th June and 1st of July 2016.
